Case Report of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Associated With a High Intake of Preformed Vitamin A From Carrots
This is the type of thing that's worth keeping in mind, in relation to my last posting (http://hardcorephysiologyfun.blogspot.com/2009/03/excesses-of-vitamin-and-some-of-its.html). In this case [Donahue, 2000: (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11124317)], the author reported that the person had developed idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) just from a high intake of carrots. The person evidently hadn't even take any vitamin A supplements, but Donahue (2000) suspected that the high levels of preformed vitamin A in carrots had caused the IIH.
